Rainbow Hill offers recovery for LGBTQ+ community

Inspired by their own experiences in recovery, recently married couple Andrew Fox and Joey Bachrach decided to leave their careers in real estate to dedicate themselves to helping members of the LGBTQ+ community struggling with addictive disorders. Rainbow Hill Recovery, which opened its doors in June, offers specialized care for LGBTQ+ individuals, including gender-affirming treatment options in an intensive outpatient treatment center dedicated to serving the community. In addition to Rainbow Hill Recovery, the founders have also established Rainbow Hill Sober Living, which provides gay, bi and trans men in recovery with a safe and supportive living environment. Together, these two facilities offer a continuum of care that can help individuals achieve lasting sobriety while also addressing the specific needs of the LGBTQ+ community.

According to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, members of the LGBTQ+ community struggle with substance abuse disorders at a rate 2-3x the general population. Faced with unique challenges related to being part of a minority group that has experienced historic discrimination, it is crucial to provide LGBTQ-affirming support and resources that take into account the unique challenges faced by the community.
